Visual identity and art direction
"Being black is as vast as the world, it's as vast as fashion. Being en mode noir means taking part in a revolution that starts with accepting each other's differences and similarities. [...]From us to ourselves, being in black fashion means being together."
To celebrate black history month, the en mode noir collective held an evening of celebration to spotlight and question the impact of black cultures on fashion in France and around the world.
I had the opportunity to design the poster for the event, to create posts for the collective's social media and to rework the existing logo.
To do so, I kept the distinctive black and white identity of the collective.
I chose to incorporate two new typefaces : a sans-serif one (Poppins) to represent the new mindset on fashion of the young black youth, and a serif one (Palatino) as a timeless symbol of Haute Couture.
I also made the decision to play with texture with this glass-like effect as a fashion designer would do.
